Some comments from previous Mersey Swing Winter Balls;
“Really great event, definitely back next year, thanks everyone!” “Thank-you very much for an absolutely fantastic night out. The party atmosphere was wonderful and made for a very fun evening of dancing, spending quality time with my friends and generally having a laugh. This was my first time dancing in Liverpool and I will most certainly come to your next event…“ “Great night with great people, can’t wait for the next one!”
Thank you to all of our friends that came to support this great event in 2016. We hope to see you again in 2017!

The event this year will once again be held at Liverpool’s ‘Black-E’. This event space has a beautiful sprung dance floor.
A former chapel that has now renovated to be a community arts venue. The Black-E stands beside the Chinese arch which leads through to Europe’s oldest Chinatown.
The Black-E is located just downhill of the Anglican Cathedral, on Great George Street, Liverpool L1 5EW, is approximately 5 minutes walk from the city centre. It is close to Lime Street Station, Central Station, and several car parks. The main entrance is situated at the junction of Great George Street and Nelson Street.

Health and Safety Information
At Mersey Swing we are all about having fun and enjoying ourselves. We do however, need to ensure that we try to reduce any risk that would make the night enjoyable. So along with every slice of cake, comes a little, well, a bit of broccoli.
Please note that the entrance to this venue is via a set of stairs. This venue does have mobility access points. Please let us know in advance and we would be happy to make arrangements for you. Please send an email to email@example.com.
As this is January, it is likely to be wet outside. We would encourage you not to dance in your outside shoes, if possible to keep our dance space as enjoyable as possible (and of course reduce any slip hazards). Mind yourself on those steps!
In order to reduce trip hazards and to ensure we have as much dance space as possible, we request that participants do not take dance bags into the main dancing area. A cloak room will be provided for you and our volunteers will be pointing people in the right direction. We will have a volunteer within the cloak room and facilities area should you have any queries.
We are not responsible for lost or stolen articles so please be mindful of your valuables.
Mersey Swing recognises the STEPS Code of Conduct and by coming to this event we ask that you recognise this code of conduct as well.
Mersey Swing is also signed up to the professional code of conduct with the Foundation for Community Dance. All of Mersey Swing’s Directors and most of the volunteer teachers have a valid DBS check.
