Lindy hop wednesdays

Classes are drop-in, you can show up any week you like!

No, you don't need a partner to join the class, most people come on their own. We rotate partners throughout the class so you'll get to meet lots of new people that you can dance with in the social at the end!

We welcome anyone to Mersey Swing. A few of our team and members have disabilities so you won't be alone. We're not experts, but we'll work with you to make sure you have a good time. There is a ramp up to the door in St Bride's and the church itself is accessible. The path to the door isn't the smoothest so please let us know if there's anything we can do to help you access the building. You can either rock up on the night and see how you go, or you can give us an email ahead of time and have a chat: info@merseyswing.com

Our Wednesday night classes are aimed at over 18s. We have a wide age range of people who attend- from early 20s to 60s/70s.

Our Swing Into Lindy courses are suitable for complete beginners (check it out on the events page). Before our main class on a Wednesday, we have a short intro to the evening where we go through some basics- turn up at 6:45 for a head start. Our main class is mixed level, some people you dance with will be beginners and others will have been dancing for 10+ years! We're a community and we all learn from each other.

Anything that is comfortable! Most people wear jeans, sportswear or anything else that they can move in. For footwear, we recommend something comfy that doesn't have too much grip. Trainers are generally fine, pumps are great as are more formal shoes that have a smooth sole.

Our weekly classes are drop in so you don't need to book. Just pay at our reception when you arrive and you're good to go!
